City Departments
After City Council sets the policies, budget and bylaws, it's up to the City Manager to make it so. The City Manager is the head of the eight City departments:
- Asset Management and Public Works
- Capital Construction
- Corporate Services
- Community Services
- Deputy City Manager's Office
- Finance and Treasury
- Planning and Development
- Transportation
Each department is responsible for providing services to citizens, from collecting garbage to running firetrucks, hiring workers, managing the budget, planning future roads, and building great neighbourhoods.
