Go green! Start a composter in your own backyard. You can turn kitchen scraps into valuable soil conditioner for your garden. There are composters that you can buy at hardware stores, or you can build one if you are handy with tools.
And you can compost your lawn clippings, just by leaving them on the lawn rather than bagging them. This “Grasscycling” returns nutrients back into the ground, making fertilizing with chemicals less necessary, plus it makes mowing the lawn a little easier!
